Natural enemies are introduced from their native range into another country to control an exotic weed.
This is the most common method of biological control. For example, the control of salvinia
(Salvinia molesta) in Australia using the weevil Cyrtobagous
salviniae. Both the weed and the weevil came from Brazil.
Inundative
When an agent, usually native to the country of application, is mass reared and released in an ongoing program. There are few examples
of this method, and none which are current.
Bioherbicides or mycoherbicides
Preparations containing pathogens which are applied as sprays.
