Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR)

ACIAR is an authority established to make a special contribution to development through sharing its agricultural research expertise overseas. ACIAR's mandate directs it to mobilise Australia's research capacity to help solve agricultural research problems of developing countries. Thus the Centre allocates much of its research and development budget to promoting bilateral development-related research collaboration between Australia and individual developing countries.

CSIRO Entomology

A large part of the research of this department involves the management and ecology of pests, weeds and beneficial insects of field crops, on reducing the current high dependence on harmful synthetic insecticides. Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines manages the use of the State's resources. The Land Protection Branch carries out work on the biological control of weeds with staff based at Alan Fletcher Research Station (Sherwood), the Tropical Weeds Research Centre (Charters Towers) and regional centres throughout the State.

The aim of the journal Biological Control: Theory and Application in Pest Management is to promote biological control through publication of original research articles and reviews of research and theory. The journal encompasses biological control of viral, microbial, nematode, insect, mite, weed, and vertebrate pests in agriculture, forestry, natural resources, stored products, and urban environments.

The National Biological Control Institute (NBCI) is part of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). Its function is to implement biological control, sustainable systems, and integrated pest management.
