Releases were made between 1988 and 1992, and the moth was widespread and causing severe damage to
rubber vine by 1995. Larvae have been found feeding on the native vine where this is close to
rubber vine, but the moth does not seem to be spreading on the native vine in the absence of
rubber vine. It is still too early to judge the final impact of the moth on either
rubber vine or the native vine, or whether successful control of rubber
vine will allow the native vine to regenerate in the areas where it was displaced.
